Hon. Simon Mbugua was appointed as the Chairman of Policyholders Compensation Fund (PCF) on 19th May 2023.

Prior to the current appointment Hon. Mbugua was a Member of Parliament at the 4th Assembly of East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) in Arusha Tanzania where he served in the Committee of Accounts and the Legal Rules and Privileges Committee. Further, he was Chairman of all Members of Parliament at EALA representing Kenya.

Hon. Mbugua is an astute Legislator with vast experience in legislation and oversight role having served as a Member of the National Assembly for Kamukunji Constituency in the 10th Parliament in the Republic of Kenya, where he was a member of various house committees.

Hon. Mbugua brings on board a wealth of experience of over 20 years in leadership and management, having served in both the public and the private sector. Hon Mbugua has previous Board experience having served as the Chair of the Finance, Human Resources and Legal Committee as well as a Member of the Audit Committee at the National NGO Coordination Board.

He has demonstrated his ability to build, manage and lead effective teams and deliver on the mandate at hand. He is innovative, determined and always prepared to go the extra mile to assist in achieving the Organizational objectives.

He has attended several executive seminars and workshops on International Standards of Audit and Fraud Management and Quality Management Systems acquired both locally and internationally among others.

Some of his areas of interest include leadership and governance, community service and offering mentorship especially among the youths and vulnerable groups.
